Acetal In engineering terms, “acetal” can also refer to polyoxymethylene, an engineering plastic containing acetal groups. Advantages of use of acetal based plastics include:
- They are chemically resistant
- They have very low water absorption
- They are resistant to hydrolysis by base
Material Highlights:
- Low co-efficient of friction
- Excellent wear and abrasion resistance properties
- Low moisture absorption
- Low centerline porosity
- Easily fabricated and machined
- Chemically resistance to neutral chemicals, hydrocarbons and solvents
- High tensile strength
- Continuous operating temperature of up to 185 degrees celcius
- Available in natural and black
- FDA, USDA, NSF, Canada AG and 3A-Dairy compliant
Applications:
- Gears
- Pulleys
- Rollers
- Bearings
- Bushings
- Cams
- Medical Parts
- Valves
- Seals
